[traditional craftsman toko kakinuma] i am a traditional craftsman who was born in arakawa ward, tokyo in 1945.
since studying under his father, kakinuma toko i, in 1971, he has devoted himself to making edo kimekomi dolls.
we are building a new toko brand by learning unique techniques such as mother-of-pearl inlays and painted double-layered kimekomi dolls, and striving to improve our techniques.

the origin of kimekomi dolls is the kimekomi dolls, which were created in kyoto during the genbun era (1736-41) about 270 years ago, and the doll-making techniques were transmitted to edo, where edo kimekomi dolls were born.
